Expelled Jose Rizal University player John Amores has signed up with the Zamboanga Valientes in the ASEAN Basketball League Invitational.
Bouncing back from an indefinite suspension in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and having been booted out by his own varsity team, the ex-Heavy Bomber's joining the Valientes was announced on Thursday, 8 December.
"We at Valientes believe in second chances. He is a good player who made a mistake in which he truly regrets. One mistake does not define who you are," the team said in a statement.
Amores caused a furor on the 8 November game between JRU and De La Salle-College of St. Benilde when he ran amok and punched members of Benilde with 3:22 left in the last quarter and the Blazers leading, 71-51.
He averaged 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13 games this NCAA season.
