Vice President Sara Z. Duterte on Wednesday recognized the efforts and initiatives of the government in minimizing the country's cybersecurity threats.
"As more Filipinos go online to join the digital economy and benefit from the internet, we must ensure we are also taking action to minimize cybersecurity threats, and that we are building up a nation of cyber-safe internet users," Duterte said in her speech during National Cybersecurity Talent Framework Analysis Report of the United States Agency for International Development.
She added: "Similarly, efforts by our partnerships, such as the work of USAID's BEACON on training cybersecurity professionals, are very welcome in order to ensure we are building a safe, secure, and robust cyberspace."
Partnership with international donors, she said, is strategic in improving the state of digital infrastructure and ecosystem in the Philippines.
"Capacitating our people beginning with institutional skills building for our national and local government allows for increased reliability and competence of recipient Filipinos to conduct highly technical digital-based tasks, monitoring, and reporting," she added.
Duterte is also thankful for the analysis presented in the report to increase cybersecurity talent in the country.
"We are even more grateful for the instrumental support of USAID in advancing technological innovation and digitization in the Philippines," she added.
