
A total of 67 persons were arrested during the weeklong anti-illegal drugs and criminality operations in Quezon City from 4 to 5 December 2022.
Quezon City Police District chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III disclosed the arrest of 21 drug suspects and confiscation of P243,080 worth of shabu during anti-drug and operations in several parts of the city.
The suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
"We will continue our operations against illegal drugs here in Quezon City because we want to keep our citizens away from any type of illegal drugs," Torre said.
A total of 22 wanted persons were arrested while 24 gamblers were also arrested in intensified anti-criminality operations, as the courts of origin will be notified of the arrest of the accused while several bet money and illegal gambling paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects and they will be charged with violation of PD 1602 or Anti-Illegal Gambling.
The QCPD director also commended his men for their relentless campaign against wanted persons and all forms of illegal gambling which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
"We will continue with our operations against the wanted persons especially the various types of gambling in Quezon City to ensure the safety of our citizens," Torre said.
