The Internet project between Meta, previously Facebook, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology is expected to launch by mid-2023.
During the Commission on Appointments committee hearing, DICT Secretary Ivan Uy said the first phase of the internet project should go fully operational after the first phase comes live next year.
He added that Luzon's internet project already has the necessary infrastructure in place. Laoag to Quezon City will be covered in the first phase and Metro Manila to the Bicol region in the second.
