The original action-comedy featured Poe as Baldo, a pickpocket who, upon release from prison, returns to his community in Quiapo and meets an aspiring female thief, Maria (Maricel Soriano).

Maria tries to convince Baldo to teach her the tricks of his old trade. But he refuses.
