
The Mandaluyong City government yesterday warned the public to be aware of the dangers posed by the human immunodeficiency virus following the detection of the virus in at least 150 persons.
The number of those testing positive for HIV was from testing conducted by the city government, Mandaluyong Health Department chief Dr. Arnold Abalos confirmed.
Most of those who tested positive for HIV belonged to the 15 to 32 age group, profiled as "aggressive" in terms of their lifestyle.
Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos, meanwhile, vowed full support for the HIV-positive residents of the city, including medications, continuing medical consultations, and laboratory testing.
She said that the number is not alarming and definitely not among the highest in Metro Manila.
