The Department of Public Works and Highways has vowed continued support and assistance to the infrastructure projects in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao during their twelfth Intergovernmental Relations Body meeting.
DPWH senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain disclosed to Cabinet and BARMM officials the proposal of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to create a district office in the region as the President earlier cited the urgent need for repairs and maintenance of infrastructure projects after the devastation of severe tropical Storm "Paeng" for the creation of a DPWH office in BARMM.
The agency is currently utilizing its Unified Project Management Office for the delivery of infrastructure and public works projects in BARMM, including the ongoing Marawi Trans-Central Road, Marawi City Ring Road, Sulu Circumferential Road bridges, three Tawi-Tawi bridges, two river basins and a bridge connecting to the Island of Basilan.
