Employable senior high school graduates will also be trained

Some 7,000 jobs were offered to senior high school graduates during a job fair of the Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Local Employment at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City on Thursday.
Employment in retail, hotel and restaurant services, business process outsourcing, semiconductor, construction and manufacturing industries were offered to K-12 graduates who are now looking for work.
Companies participating in the job fair will provide training to those who will be hired, DoLE General Administration and Regional Operations Cluster Undersecretary Ciriaco Lagunzad III said in a radio interview.
Lagunzad noted that K-12 graduates are not often hired for their respective field of work.
"Employers recognize that they don't have much experience, which is why they have also offered training for jobseekers to acquire the needed skills for the jobs that have been offered to them," Lagunzad said.
The job fair kicks off DoLE's 85th anniversary celebration from Thursday to 8 December.
