Police arrested four members of notorious robbery-hold up gang operating in Calabarzon and National Capital Region in follow-up operations in Taguig City.
PNP officer-in charge Police Lieutenant General Rhodel Sermonia identified the four suspects as Larry Perez Gilbero Jr., Jessierell Cañete Eusebio, John Clister del Rosario Balderama and Diosdado Manahan Tamondong Jr., all residents of Taguig City.
Sermonia said that police operations stemmed from information they received on 25 November from the latest victims who were crew of a convenience store in Imus City, Cavite.
According to report, the suspects entered the said establishment and asked the crew at gunpoint for the location of the vault and took P30,000 and four mobile phones before escaping aboard two motorcycles.
Police said that the suspects were positively identified through CCTV footages from the convenience store and nearby establishments.
A hot pursuit operation was conducted by joint operatives of Regional Intelligence Division 4A Special Operations Unit, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite Provincial Intelligence Units, together with Rizal Provincial Mobile Force Company, Police Stations of Binangonan, Bacoor, and Imus City in coordination with Taguig City Police Station at Barangay Calzada, Tipas, Taguig City.
The location of the suspects was tracked by police investigators through the GPS Tracker installed in one of the stolen mobile phones of the victims.
Confiscated from suspects possession were two caliber .38 pistols with defaced serial numbers, a caliber .22 pistol, assorted ammunition, assorted stolen mobile phones, a hand grenade, motorcycle and a signature baseball cap used by one of the suspects during their heist.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle was positively identified by crew victims as the one being used by the suspects during their escape.
