
CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, La Union — The Philippine National Police here disclosed that a a murder suspect who has bounty on his head for killing two individuals was finally arrested in Leyte after four years of hiding.
The suspect — identified as Joselito R. Lumapas — was arrested by the Regional Mobile Force 1 headed by Col. Dominic B. Guerrero at Barangay Magsaysay in Palompon, Leyte.
Lumapas is included in the Department of the Interior and Local Government's wanted list with a bounty of P140,000 for the alleged killing of Rizaldo Oiguan and Aida Oiguan on 13 October 2018 in Infanta, Pangasinan.
Authorities raided the suspect's hiding place in Leyte province and arrested him by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Loreto S. Alog Jr. of the RTC Branch 70 in Burgos, Pangasinan dated 22 April 2020.
The arrested accused was brought to Manuel B Veloso Memorial Hospital for medical and physical examination and subsequently to Palompon MPS for documentation and proper disposition and for safekeeping prior to the return of warrant of arrest to the issuing court.
