The House Committee on Metro Manila Development accused network vehicle service provider Grab of violating its previous commitment to abide by the competition rules by not overcharging its customers.
"Grab violated competition rules by overcharging customers a!er committing to regulators they will not do so," said committee member and Marikina Representative Stella Quimbo.
She requested the PCC to closely monitor Grab for there is always the possibility the nit would again increase their charges to customers due to their clear dominance in the market PCC lawyer Juan Antonio Arcilla said they have already started investigating the alleged Grab infraction "but have not yet initiated any reviews of their transaction."
Arcilla said they are coordinating with other regulating agencies including the Land Transportation and Regulatory Board for the matter, adding that they have a price matrix.
Quimbo, however, stressed that despite restraint imposed by the PCC, Grab continues to raise charges to its customers.
