A midnight fire in a commercial building in Paco, Manila on Sunday killed three dogs and seven cats after their owner failed to rescue them.

The Manila Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire broke out in a three-story building along Angel Linao and reached second alarm.

The female store owner was lucky to have escaped the same fate as her pedigreed pets who were all found burnt to a crisp, if not charred.

A passing motorcycle helped the woman force open a window to allow her to escape from her burning store.
