One of the country's leading lighting, electrical, and power solutions companies, Firefly Electric & Lighting Corporation or FELCO, urged Filipino families to use light-emitting diode Christmas lights to conserve energy.

During his interview with the Daily Tribune's digital morning show Gising Na!, FELCO category manager said Ray Elexie Encomienda said LED lights are 40 percent more economical compared to traditional bulbs used in Christmas lights

"FELCO has this Christmas light that has been tested that uses LED. Electricity costs P.50 per hour less. We suggest LED because it's very cost-effective," he said.

FELCO recently launched its newest lighting innovation that protects homes from accidents such as fire.

Encomienda said the company's latest offering is the technology merging the home's lighting system with the Internet in which homeowners can monitor the use of lights.

Fresh twist

"The lighting system is part of the company's smart solutions, meaning homeowners can switch on and off their lights remotely, so long as they are connected to the internet. Also, they can schedule the usage of their lights in which lights automatically dim during nighttime. Other products we have right now are streetlights and flat lights that are environment-friendly and energy-preserving," Encomienda explained.

Since its inception in 2001, he said FELCO has been producing compact fluorescent lamps, but expanded in manufacturing switches and outlets, as well as LED lights in 2011
"Right now, we are pushing our newest technology like the emergency and rechargeable lamps. We have new plants that produce wirings and panel breakers," he said.

Other innovations that FELCO now pushes are their other products such as security cameras also controlled by the internet and solar light solutions.

Last Friday, the company lit its 70ft tall Christmas tree designed by Solenn Heusaff, signaling the company's positive hopes for the Covid 19 pandemic to end.

Established in 2001 to engage in the marketing and sale of electrical, lighting, and power solutions products in the Philippines, FELCO aims to provide quality products and innovative solutions that are cost-effective and tailored to the needs of its customers.

With branches and distribution hubs strategically located in major cities all over the archipelago, and established partnerships with trusted companies, professionals, and trade accounts, you can be assured of FELCO's commitment to bringing safe and quality products to every Filipino.
