Eight-year-old prodigy Bince Rafael Operiano of Oas, Albay, won the 6th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship in Thailand, his father Benrose posted on Facebook.
The boy represented the Philippines in the international competition held from 4 to 13 November.
Operiano was picked to compete after winning in the Boys Under 9 category of the National Youth and Schools Chess Championships Grand Finals held 16 to 23 September in Zamboanga Del Norte. Photos courtesy of Benrose Operiano
