Coleen Garcia couldn't contain her joy that husband Billy Crawford won Danse avec les stars, the French version of the British TV contest Strictly Come Dancing.
It premiered on 12 February 2011 and ended a month later. It continued airing every year in autumn. Its format has been adapted by 60 other countries under the title Dancing with the Stars, licensed by BBC Worldwide.
Crawford and his DALS partner, French dancer and choreographer Fauve Hautot, were crowned champions after getting 53.4 percent of votes against opponents Pierre Mauduy and Carla Lazarri.
"Words cannot express how PROUD I am of you, my love! Not just for winning this difficult competition, but for growing into the person you have become: A kind, humble man who works hard, dreams big for his family, shoots for the stars and makes sure to lift as many people up with him along the way," Coleen said on Instagram on 12 November.
Since the pilot episode that aired in September, Hautot and Crawford have earned consecutive wins for their performances. Prior to the grand finals, the pair got almost perfect scores, 39 and 40, despite Crawford's back injury.
"You are an amazing person, and I am so blessed that our son gets to look up to you and have you as his Dad. You amaze me every time. I love you, and I'm so happy for you! You deserve all of this and more," Coleen added.
Crawford confirmed his participation on the French show last July. In the Philippines he co-hosts TV5's noontime program Lunch Out Loud.
