The Department of Public Works and Highways on Thursday showcased the completed road pavements which aim to aid the transport of agricultural goods in numerous farming communities in the country.
In Pangasinan, a 3.4-kilometer farm-to-market road connecting Barangay Bakit-Bakit in Rosales and Barangay San Miguel in Barungao is already being used in transferring rice and corn grains, shortening the travel time from 25 minutes to 10 minutes.
The said farm-to-market road is constructed with a P30 million budget, which also includes the setting up of 42 solar LED lights along the road.
DPWH Region I Director Ronnel M. Tan said that they are aiming to finish other road projects before the end of the year to ramp up tourism and economic growth in the province.
Another farm-to-market road has been finished, this time in Negros Occidental, as the DPWH finishes the construction of a farm-to-market road in Barangay Manuling, in the town of Cauayan.
