Secret’s out: TikTok star Bella Poarch is married, wants divorce

The secret is out.

Philippine-born TikTok star Bella Poarch has been married for four years, a fact otherwise unknown to the public, until she filed for divorce, tabloid website TMZ reported on 6 November.

Citing "irreconcilable differences" in her marriage to a certain Tyler Poarch, Bella — real name Denarie Kyla Bautista Taylor, according to her fandom — filed for divorce at the Los Angeles County.

Legal documents obtained by TMZ said the couple married in January 2019. They didn't have any children.

Born in San Fabian, Pangasinan, and said to have been raised by her maternal grandmother in the slums until age 3, Bella, 25, went to live with her adoptive parents — an American military serviceman and a Filipino woman who met in Saudi Arabia — to San Francisco and then to Texas.

In 2017 she enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Japan and Hawaii.

On 17 August 2020, a TikTok video she made, in which she lip-syncs to British rapper Millie B's tune "M to the B," went viral. By 27 December of that year, it became the most popular on the social media site with 547.1 million views and 44.7 million likes.

Bella currently has 92.3 million TikTok followers and is its fourth highest-paid star, according to Forbes.

In 2021, Bella made it to Forbes' "30 Under 30" social media list.

She released her debut single, "Build a Bitch," on 14 May 2021. Its music video features fellow Filipino internet celebrity Bretman Rock, as well as Madison Beer, Chloe Cherry, and Grimes.

Bella is set to appear on Rihanna's upcoming Savage X Fenty show which streams on 9 November on Amazon Prime Video.
