Versatility defines Ji Chang-wook as an actor.

In the media conference for his fan meet Reach You, the 35-year-old South Korean performing arts graduate said, "I want to try different genres to show different aspects of myself to viewers."

But he's actually been portraying a variety of characters since the start.

He was a Korean-American short-track speed skater in the drama series Smile Again (2010), in which he won Best Actor in a Daily Drama at the KBS Drama Awards.

Ji bagged the titular role as a Joseon-era swordsman

In the historical action series Warrior Baek Dong-soo (2011), for which he bagged the SBS Drama Awards' New Start Award.

His first antagonist role was in the melodrama Five Fingers (2012), where he portrayed a pianist who envies his older brother's musical talent.

Ji has also acted on stage. In 2013, he was cast in the theater musical The Days as a presidential bodyguard who went missing for 20 years with a mysterious female companion.

It's his first time to visit the Philippines to hold a fan meet, as endorser of Filipino fashion brand Bench.

He said it's been a while since he touched base with his fans, which is why he called his fan meet Reach You.

The event is scheduled today, 6 November, 5 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
