Finally, a Bulldogs win over the Eagles.
National University on 2 November ended its six-year losing streak over Ateneo de Manila University, 78-74, in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena.
It marked NU's first win over Ateneo since 11 September 2016 Season 79.
Following Ange Kouame's reverse layup pushed NU ahead, 76-74, with 5.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Patrick Yu drained two of his free throws for a 78-74 lead to win the game.
Jolo Manansala led the Bulldogs with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Kean Baclaan had 10 markers.
The win also lifted NU to second place with a 6-3 record.
BJ Andrade scored 21 points for Ateneo, which slid to third place at 5-3.
