Severe Tropical Storm Paeng left three retired Philippine Navy vessels half-submerged at a shipyard in Cavite, the PN said Monday.
PN spokesperson Commander Benjo Negranza identified the vessels as the BRP Rajah Humabon (PS11), BRP Sultan Kudarat (PS22) and BRP Cebu (PS28).
The ships were decommissioned on 15 March 2018, 5 July 2019 and 1 October 2019, respectively.
Negranza showed photos of the ship at the Navy's "graveyard dock" where all decommissioned vessels are temporarily berthed until final disposal.
"All three decommissioned vessels have been stripped of all serviceable equipment and usable materials," Negranza said.
The said vessels are currently undergoing a disposal process "in accordance with existing policies and procedures and are likely to be sold as scrap," he added.
Meanwhile, Negranza said personnel of the Naval Station Pascual Ledesma were safe during Paeng's landfall.
