Converge import Quincy Miller expressed willingness to suit up as naturalized player for Gilas Pilipinas in major international event.

In a social media post, the 29-year-old former National Basketball Association standout said he wants to play for the national squad that is set to compete in the FIBA World Cup next year.

Miller could be a great addition to Gilas squad.

In the ongoing Commissioner's Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association, the 6-foot-10 former Baylor star averages 32.4 points, 16.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.4 blocks and 2.0 steals while shooting a sizzling 49 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line to lead the FiberXers to five wins in their first eight games.

More than that, the FiberXers uncorked a four-game winning streak in which they defeated heavyweights San Miguel Beer, Meralco and TNT Tropang Giga, who are all being handled by elite mentors in Leo Austria, Norman Black and Chot Reyes, respectively.

Their last loss came from the hands of guest team Bay Area on 7 October.

"I wanna play on the national team," Miller said.

Should the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas grant Miller's request, he will be part of the pool of naturalized players that will be groomed to reinforce Gilas Pilipinas in major international events, including the Southeast Asian Games and the Asian Games.

Previously, the SBP identified Justin Brownlee of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Cameron Oliver of TNT Tropang Giga as part of the naturalized pool that already includes NBA star Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz and collegiate standout Ange Kouame of Ateneo de Manila University.

Brownlee and Oliver had already submitted pertinent documents and both the House of Representatives and Senate are already working on granting their citizenships.
