SAN JOSE, Tarlac — The Department of Trade and Industry recently provided at least nine former rebels livelihood kits at the Department of Agriculture Building in Barangay Villa Aglipay of this town.
The livelihood kit is worth P11,000 of grocery package from the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa program of the DTI.
The agency's Tarlac Business Development Division Chief Zaida Garibay said that the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and the local government of San Jose have been helpful in reaching out to the beneficiaries of the said program.
She expressed her gratitude to the soldiers who were instrumental in connecting a bridge between the former rebels and the agency, providing them with the necessary livelihood so they can be reintegrated to society.
Meantime, DTI Tarlac OIC Florencia Balilo said that the government is exerting all efforts to provide livelihood to former rebels and end insurgency in the country in a bloodless manner.
The 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion recently provided 20 ex-rebels with financial assistance from the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government.
Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer Bautista, acting commanding officer of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, also expressed his gratitude to the DTI and the local government of San Jose for providing assistance to these former rebels.
He urged the returnees to use these livelihood kits to become successful in life.
