President Bongbong Marcos will preside over a meeting with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on 29 October at 2 p.m., Malacañang announced.
Marcos has ordered national government agencies to assist the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in its relief and rescue operations on the recent flooding in Maguindanao that has so far claimed at least 67 people.
"Everyone is advised to stay alert and take all precautionary measures to stay safe," Press Secretary officer-in-charge Cheloy Garafil said.
She added the President is in constant communication with different government agencies on the status of Severe Tropical Storm "Paeng" to make sure there is sufficient resource augmentation to support local government units in all affected areas.
