Lloyd Jefferson Go advanced to the third stage of the Japan Golf Tour Q-School despite a closing two-over-par 74 at the Hourai Country Club in Japan Friday.

Go completed 72 holes on 2-under 286, good for a share of 20th place.

Only the top 33 and ties make the cut for the next stage on 28 November.

Go had a bad start of three bogeys in the first four holes but righted the ship at the back with two birdies against one bogey.

Japanese Yohei Nakamichi topped the qualifying on 17-under 271, seven shots ahead of Taiga Harada. Third place went to Kazuki Ishiwata on 9-under after a 279.

Meanwhile, Juvic Pagunsan one-putted 10 holes to leap to a share of 11th spot following an impressive five-under-par bogey-free 65 in the Heiwa PGM Championship in Ishioka, Japan.

The 44-year-old Filipino, who opened with a 69 Thursday, reached the turn on 2-under after birdies on 1 and 8. He added three more birdies on 10, 17, and 18.

Pagunsan moved to 6-under 134, just four shots off co-leaders Brendan Jones of Australia and Japanese Keita Nakajima.

Jones fired a 63 while Nakajima carded a 64.

Justin de los Santos, the other Filipino in the field, turned in a 68 to improve to 1-under 139. He had six birdies against two bogeys and a double bogey.
