BAGUIO CITY — The Benguet Provincial Police Office and the Special Action Force of the Philippine National Police destroyed P2,200,000 worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and marijuana seedlings in three different sites in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan in Benguet.
In the first plantation, the cops discovered 5,600 pieces of marijuana planted in an estimated land area of 700 square meters in Sitio Pagidey in Barangay Tacadang worth P1,120,000.
The second plantation, on the other hand, was discovered in the nearby area also at Sitio Pagidey with at least 4,800 marijuana plants in an estimated land area of 600 square meters. The plants are worth P960,000.
Also at a nearby lot in the same area, 3,000 pieces of marijuana seedlings planted in an estimated land area of 12 square meters worth P120,000.
The plants were uprooted and burned-on-site after proper documentation. Few samples were brought to the headquarters for qualitative test.
