The Philippine Navy reported on Monday that the two Pakistani nationals who were injured while traversing the waters of Ilocos Sur amid rough sea conditions are now recovering.
To recall, Philippine Naval forces under the Northern Luzon Command rescued the injured personnel in charge in the forecastle of the Pakistan Navy Ship Shamsheer on 21 October, after being hit by rough sea conditions — causing the ship to intensely shake.
NolCom Public Information Office chief, Lt. Col. Elmar Salvador said the Pakistan Naval Ship was en route to Korea before going to Japan for the Fleet Review of the Japanese Maritime Self-defense Force.
Upon receiving a radio message from the foreign ship, the Naval Forces Northern Luzon immediately opened the port of Sta. Ana Cagayan anchorage area to provide first aid.
The two injured personnel were transferred to the Grupo Medico De Dios Hospital in Cagayan for necessary medical assistance.
