The Department of Transportation said it will work closely with its Asian neighbors to push for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects and transport initiatives to benefit Filipinos.
At the ASEAN Transport Ministers Meeting and Associated Meetings on Monday, Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista said he conveyed to the country's dialogue partners China, Japan and the Republic of Korea the assurance of the Philippines' continued support for the successful implementation of the Transport Cooperation Roadmaps.
"The Republic of the Philippines is one with the ASEAN member states in expressing gratitude for the Government of China for its support in the implementation of transport projects and activities under the 2021-2025 Revised Strategic Plan for ASEAN-China Transport Cooperation," Bautista said.
Bautista said China, as a partner in implementing transport infrastructure projects, provides a "vital pillar of support among ASEAN member states."
"There is no doubt that despite the adversities and challenges that mark the road towards development and recovery, the partnership between the 10-member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Government of China continues to thrive," he added.
