CLARK FREEPORT — The Clark Development Corporation disclosed on Monday that two specialty hospitals — the Philippine Heart Center and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute — are eyeing to construct their regional facilities inside this Freeport.
This comes after CDC president and CEP Atty. Agnes Devanadera issued a memorandum regarding the plans to make this ecozone a site for the Philippine Heart Center Region 3 and the National Kidney Center Region 3.
The CDC Board, led by chairperson Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan, approved the creation of the two specialty hospitals, citing that the state-owned firm identified the extents of lower Pulang Lupa with 18.68 hectares' land and former Savencia area with 5.72 hectares as the locations for the said health facilities.
According to Devanadera, CDC had its initial talks with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation for the possible funding of the project.
"CDC has initially coordinated the possible funding of the project with PAGCOR, through its chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco and its president and COO Atty. Juanito L. Sañosa Jr," Devanadera said.
"We are likewise looking into having the original design of the two specialty hospitals implemented in Clark, coordinating with the architect and planner of the said buildings," she added.
The state-owned corporation said that the project is in support of the national government and Department of Health's Philippine Health Facility Development Plan.
This program is also consistent with the pronouncement of the current administration's goal of establishing more specialty hospitals in the country. Under the PHFDP, specialty medical centers on neonatal, heart, lung, kidney, and cancer will be prioritized.
