Dottie Ardina hit all fairways on her way to a three-under-par 69 in the Toyota Classic at the Ol' Colony golf course in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Friday.
The 28-year-old Filipina did not make a single bogey while sinking three birdies but was seven shots off the pace set by Robyn Choi who chalked up 10 3s on her scorecard.
Ardina, ranked 20th on the money list with $54,970, is hoping to crash the Top 10 and earn an LPGA Tour card.
She started at the back with five straight pars before birdieing 15.
After four pars, Ardina birdied 2 and stuck her tee shot close to gain another stroke on the par-3 eighth hole.
Meanwhile, Abby Arevalo missed only two greens in shooting a 70. She had three birdies, two off par-5 holes, the only blot coming on 16 which she bogeyed.
Clariss Guce and Pauline del Rosario, the other Filipinas in the field, opened with 73 and 75, respectively.
Guce mixed three birdies with four bogeys while Del Rosario had only one birdie against four bogeys.
