Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos has tapped the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to develop a topographical review of evacuation centers in his homeland in the wake of typhoon "Karding" that hit Luzon.
The evacuation centers would have solar charging and enough supplies as a temporary shelter for his displaced "kakailalian" (a northern Luzon term for a fellow citizen of a town or province) who had been affected by natural disasters.
"In light of typhoon 'Karding,' we are creating a master plan for evacuation centers in the 1st district of Ilocos Norte," Marcos posted on FB Wednesday.
"Thank you to the DENR for helping us identify the areas most prone to landslides and flooding," added the senior deputy majority leader.
