House Resolution 421 words an ode to the bravery of those at the center of national attention shortly at the wake of the storm: Narciso Calayag Jr., Jerson Resurreccion, Marby Bartolome, George Agustin and Troy Justin Agustin, who lost their own to save precious lives in Barangay Kamias in San Miguel, Bulacan.

The rescuers were wading through flood toward an area out-of-reach of their land vehicle when a wall collapsed, drowning all aboard the banca in the surging flood.
Quezon, Aurora, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga and Metro Manila were on the path of the super typhoon.
"The five rescuers gave their lives in the service of others. Thus, they are worthy of commendation and emulation by all Filipinos as they exuded heroism, patriotism, bravery and dedication to public service," the resolution read.
