The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided more than P22.7 million worth of food and nonfood items as resource augmentation to local government units affected by typhoon "Karding."
As of 28 September, the department also provided cash assistance amounting to P2.73 million under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.
Of this amount, financial assistance worth P5,000 was given to 475 families in Aurora and 69 families in Quezon with partially damaged houses, and P10,000 to a household in Kabayan, Benguet that was totally damaged.
It has also airlifted and delivered family food packs and other relief items to hard-to-reach areas in Quezon and other remote communities affected by the typhoon.
To date, still available are P103.01 million Quick Response Fund at the DSWD Central Office, P43.08 million at DSWD Field Offices I, II, III, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, V, NCR, and CAR, and P40.33 million in other DSWD FOs to support the department's relief operations for typhoon-affected LGUs.
