Entering the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe is Deadpool 3, which will see the comeback of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Deadpool 3 will be the first installment film under Disney after the production was bought from 20th Century Fox.
In a witty, as always, video announcement by Ryan Reynolds on his social media pages, he shared: "Hey everyone, we're extremely sad to have missed D23, but we've been working very hard on the next Deadpool film for a good long while now."
"We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning," he added. "Every Deadpool needs to stand out and stand apart. It's been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside. And I… have nothing."
"Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea."
Then a bulky man suddenly appeared behind him.
"Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?" asked Reynolds.
"Yeah, sure Ryan," replied the iconic X-Men actor Hugh Jackman.
The video announcement ended with the signature three claw slashes signifying the crossover of the mutants on the big screen.
One more flourish: Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" underlining Hugh's comeback as Wolverine.
Jackman's stint as Wolverine was supposed to have ended after the standalone film Logan. But with this announcement, fans can look forward to double the fun and thrills, with Deadpool 3 set to hit cinemas on 6 September 2024.
