About 5,239 affected Bulakenyos have taken shelter in various evacuation centers in the province since the severe destruction delivered by Super Typhoon Karding.
According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Head Rowena J. Tiongson, 117 evacuation centers sheltered 1,571 families including 1,447 children and 231 adults throughout the province.
Because of this, the local government immediately distributed family food packs (FFP) and non-food items (NFI) to 176 families temporarily staying at the Obando Municipal Hall.
In an interview, Governor Daniel Fernando said that they will also visit to bring aid to the affected Bulakenyos in the towns of San Miguel, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Angat, San Ildefonso, and San Rafael that were hit hard by Karding.
"Until the water recedes in their areas, we will not let evacuees return to their homes, it is still dangerous," said the governor.
In this regard, around 7:00 am this Tuesday, the elevation of Angat Dam was at 184.07 mts., which was below the flood season high water level of 210 mts., while at Ipo Dam was 101.07 mts., and 16.22 mts. at Bustos Dam.
