Busan is a bustling city in South Korea that rivals prime tourist destinations in more ways than one.
The second largest city best known as the port capital of Korea, Busan boasts delectable dishes, stunning skyscrapers, and picturesque beaches. Locals and visitors alike love the city for its vitality — where the nights are as busy as the days.
On a recent trip, I saw firsthand Busan's beguiling beauty in a tour organized by the Korea Tourism Organization Manila office and the Busan Tourism Organization. Here are some must-visit destinations when in Busan.
Busan X The Sky
The tallest landmark in Busan, the LCT building, consists of three skyscrapers: The Landmark Tower, and two 85-storey residential buildings.
Within The Landmark Tower is Busan X The Sky, an observation deck on the 98th to 100th floor. From the ground floor, it takes only 58 seconds to reach the 100th floor via the tower's "Sky Cruise" elevator.
Busan X The Sky provides an unparalleled view of Busan's coastline. Artworks by local artists fill the walls. The most visited is the "Shocking Bridge," a glass floor that provides a clear view of the ground to the 100th floor.
Visitors can try writing on one of the tablets of the "Sky Letter." Messages are then sent to the big screen just in front. It is up for a few seconds.
Busan X The Sky is located in Haeundae-gu, Dalmaji-gil, Busan, South Korea. It is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Haeundae Blue Line Park
Haeundae Beach is very popular in the city. To get a full view, one has to ride the beach train in Haeundae Blue Line Park.
Haeundae Blue Line Park, which opened in October 2020, gives a breathtaking view of the entire seaside. From Songjeong, the beach train passes through Gudeokpo, Daritdol Skywalk, Cheongsapo, Dalmaji Tunnel stations to Mipo. If you buy a one-day pass, you can hop on and off at each station and enjoy the photo zones.

Busan River Cruise
After a day of touring, sit back and relax on a cruise on Haeundae River.
The yacht tour offers a leisurely 90-minute trip. At night, one can witness the beautiful nightscapes of the Haeundae Marine City and Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
