The Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group is coordinating with local government units in its bid to intensify efforts of protecting the public against the illegal drug menace.
PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo said that they are collaborating with LGUs to spray chemicals in destroying marijuana crops in marijuana plantation sites so that marijuana seedlings on the ground will no longer grow and develop.
This comes as authorities conducted marijuana eradication operations conducted in the mountainous areas of Lanao del Sur, with P10 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants destroyed.
The PDEG added that it has observed cultivations of marijuana plantations in specific areas have been accurately chronic.
Domingo said the PDEG has committed to sustaining all-out operations nationwide and remains vigilant in monitoring drug suspects who continuously have drug transactions concealing through different modus operandi.
He disclosed that the PDEG recently conducted a seven-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations where 73 Law Enforcement Operations comprising 14 buy-bust operations, 48 services of warrants of arrests, five search warrants and five marijuana eradications which resulted in the arrest of 81 suspects on the seven days of SACLEO.
Domingo said the operation resulted in the seizure of 61, 495 grams of shabu and 720,000 pieces of marijuana plants with an estimated standard drug price of P562,166,000.
