The spokesperson of the Office of the Vice President on Tuesday said the decision to transfer office to Mandaluyong City was made to improve efficiency.

Lawyer Reynold Munsayac was reacting to criticisms hurled against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte for having a "luxurious office" at the Cybergate Plaza near Robinson Pioneer in EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

"It's not luxury. We want efficiency more than anything else. The problem, sometimes, with other people is that they just jumped to conclusion with incomplete information and facts," Munsayac said in a video message sent to reporters.

In the previous administration, former vice president Leni Robredo has two offices in Quezon City — a reception house in New Manila and another one at Ben Lor Building in Quezon Avenue which houses her staff.

"When we went to that place (Ben Lor Building) it was quite crowded, some employees are squeezing themselves up in a small room, and others are sharing one table. So, we thought that maybe it would be good in an agency that all employees and officials are all together under one roof," Munsayac said.

"It's more efficient because it doesn't take long to process documents. Those who needed their paper signed do not need to travel anymore," he added.
