Drag performer and one of the most popular and beloved queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race (RPDR), Bianca del Rio, is returning to the Philippines, one of the stops in her “Unsanitized” world tour 2022.
Presented by LA Comedy Live, the Metro Manila leg of the adults-only comedy show is on 11 October at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater of Ayala Malls’ Circuit Makati.
The RPDR Season 6 winner is known for her snarky humor, comedic timing and frankness, earning her the sobriquets “Mean Queen” and “Queen of Shade,” has become one of the most successful “Ru girls.”
Del Rio, whose real name is Roy Haylock, first came to the country in March 2019 as part of her “It’s Jester Joke” world tour and performed for two days. This year, she is embarking on her biggest comedy tour yet, which began in March in several cities in Canada.
“Unsanitized” went to several Latin American countries including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico, before landing in several cities in United Kingdom as well as in Europe (Dublin, Brussels, Hamburg, Bergen, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Berlin, Paris, Poznan, Warsaw, and Amsterdam).
The show also made a stop in Israel, and is now doing the rounds in Australia, and New Zealand, before landing in the Philippines. The second Asian stop is Singapore on 14 October and it will round up the year in several cities in the United States.
According to its organizer, “Unsanitized” “will tackle life during the pandemic, her work challenges during this time, celebrities, LGBTQ+ communities, and even her fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni.”
“I’m incredibly excited to be returning to Asia with my comedy show to lighten things up and make people laugh after we’ve all had a rough couple of years dealing with the pandemic!” Del Rio said.
