Mask or no mask, good skin is the basic canvas on which beauty may be enhanced. Having healthy skin is, of course, the essential that makes man or woman exude a natural beauty no matter what society holds as the standard to "good looks."

In the search for beautiful skin, many beauty and aesthetic companies have created and introduced innovations and so-called miracle solutions, but in the age of Covid-19, most people have gone back to the "simplest" solutions.

Of course, simple does not always mean low-tech. In fact, two of the newest skin innovations we have discovered are hinged on the latest technology.

Power of 'red'

The Dr. CRB Aesthetic and Laser Clinic, which has moved to a newer, bigger space at Level 2 C2 Building, Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Avenue corner 28th Street, BGC, Taguig City takes pride in being the first clinic in the country to offer the Red Touch laser treatment, a technology developed in Italy.

Dr. Che Bernad, founder and chief doctor of Dr. CRB, said, "there is a growing market demand for skin rejuvenation treatments with minimal non-invasive treatment sessions, and Red Touch is the first system which has an elective absorption by collagen."

"A virtually zero downtime procedure, the epidermal layer of the skin is not damaged, thus reducing side effects. The handpiece used is designed with an integrated scanner system to get the best performance in transmitting energy to the skin with an optimized ergonomics," information from Dr. CRB says.

This technology presents a new selective wavelength that reacts with collagen. Compared to the systems currently on the market that target water, the Red Touch system acts directly on the collagen component contained at dermal level. The effects? Skin tightening with the use of a non-surgical treatment to restore flabby tissues. It restores both skin tone and firmness that have begun to yield to the force of gravity.

Today's skin tightening treatments do not require cosmetic surgery or use of fillers. With its leading-edge technologies DEKA stimulates collagen achieving non-invasive or minimally invasive firming with no side effects. Nd:YAG laser, CO₂, and Coolwaves are the main sources aimed at stimulating endogenous collagen to restore compactness and tightness in the skin. Variable levels of skin tightening can be achieved, with a significant reduction in skin laxity and improvement in texture.

The procedure takes less than 30 minutes, and one may choose to have it done once a month for three months to achieve desired result.

'Super' ingredients are the key

In this age of boosters, the beauty industry is ramping up its range of products with "power ingredients" and "super serums" designed to boost both skin and self-care routines.

Among the essential products that gained more prominence amid the pandemic is the serum.

One of the most credible brands dedicated to science-backed skincare is Kiehl's, which has taken it upon itself to save us countless hours of online research by partnering with Harvard University's top board-certified dermatologists with the goal of uncovering the truth around skincare serums.

"Face serums, much like other skincare products, contain active ingredients that provide hydration and additional protection the skin needs to deliver quality results. What makes serums stand out is the concentrated amounts of active molecules found in ingredients such as Activated Vitamin C, ProXylane, Pure Retinol, and Niacinamide. These components allow for faster skin absorption, and users can see visible results in a shorter amount of time," the brand says.

Making it even more convenient is Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions, a collection of powerful yet safe targeted treatments which address, but are not limited to, complex skin concerns.

Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is for those who want to get rid of dark spots and achieve a visibly healthier and glowing complexion in just two weeks, regardless of skin type.

Users who wish to improve uneven skin areas can use Kiehl's Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Retinol Serum. This is touted as the safest retinol one may use on a regular basis.

Complete your skincare routine and get a taste of the potential of Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions with Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.
