The Philippine and Indonesian governments on Monday inked four agreements on economy, culture, and defense during the first state visit of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to the fellow archipelagic state.
At the Istana Bogor, the agreements were presented to Marcos and Indonesian President Joko Widodo such as the Plan of Action between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines from 2022 to 2027 and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on Cultural Cooperation.
Also signed were the agreements on Cooperative Activities in the Field of Defense and Security between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the Development and Promotion of Creative Economy between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines.
Marcos said the Philippine government will continue to work to strengthen the bilateral ties between the Philippines and Indonesia.
"The partnerships that we make will be of critical importance so we remain stable as we grow out of the pandemic economy. We will help each other develop regional peace and development," said Marcos.
