Authorities reported that a 57-year-old man died after being stabbed by his drinking buddy following a heated argument in Navotas City on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Melvin Gariando, a resident of Oliveros dike in Barangay Tangos North while the suspect was identified as Rogelio Jimenez of F. Cruz.
The suspect is now in in custody of the Navotas PNP and will be facing corresponding charges.
Initial reports disclosed that the incident happened at 7:45 p.m. at Badeo 5 and according to PSSg. Karl Benzon de la Cruz of the Navotas City Police, the victim and the suspect were in a drinking session when they got into an argument.
While arguing, Jimenez suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed Gariando several times in the body before escaping, while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
A witness reported the incident to Barangay San Roque tanods, who, in turn, sought help from the Intelligence section of the Navotas.
