When Ben&Ben was asked if the song "The Ones We Once Loved" is based on a real-life story, Paolo Benjamin answered yes but refrained from explaining further.

Its music video made more sense to his answer.

He and ex-girlfriend Bea Lorenzo bared it all as the story line for the music video is an ode to their ended relationship.

The nine-member group explained in a statement: "We recognize that it is quite rare to attain the kind of closure that Pao and Bea have, and much more so create a piece of art that gives respect and honor to the relationship that has passed."

The visuals showed a part of their relationship up to how it waned.

"Everyone in the team really gave it their best to amplify that message to all who watch the music video: That closure, even if it is a painful process, is cathartic," Ben&Ben added.

Directed by Niq Ablao who was also the person behind the music video of "Paninindigan Kita" and "Upuan," she was adamant in giving importance to "making amends with one's self, and the person on the other end of the grieving process."

Things even got more personal as Paolo and Bea also included videos of them when they were still together after the credits rolled in the music video.

"The Ones We Once Loved" already garnered three million streams on Spotify and YouTube since its release last 26 August. Meanwhile, the music video already gained 256,000 views.
