Pilmico and Gold Coin Group, the Aboitiz Group's food subsidiary, has committed to the communities it serves through various corporate social responsibility initiatives in the region.
Pilmico also embraced the mission of feeding humanity. Their various CSR initiatives previously held in the Philippines have now reached communities across Asia where Gold Coin is present.
"Pilmico has served as a partner for several communities from the many initiatives we have done in the Philippines. And now that we can finally do the same for Gold Coin, we are glad and excited to lend a helping hand," Pilmico Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Ma. Katrina Bayog-Mercado said.
"As the company continues to expand our reach across different regions in Asia, this means more opportunities for us to reach out to more communities," Bayog-Mercado added.
Creating more agripreneurs
Pilmico lives out the Aboitiz Group's greater purpose of advancing business and communities through its flagship project Pilmico Livelihood Kit, where livelihood opportunities to farmers and entrepreneurs are provided.
Pilmico partnered with the Aboitiz Group's CSR arm, Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. for the Quail Eggs Livelihood Kit.
The project aims to aid swine raisers from Caraga, Misamis Oriental and Lanao del Norte who were greatly affected by the African Swine Fever.
A memorandum of agreement signing event was held last 19 July at the City Veterinary Office of Cagayan de Oro.
City Veterinarian of Cagayan de Oro Dr. Perla Asis, DM expressed her gratitude for the Quail Eggs Livelihood Kit.
"The City Veterinary Office appreciates the project of Pilmico to distribute these livelihood kits to the beneficiaries that would help them earn additional income. This project will be a good opportunity for the beneficiaries to recover from the loss brought by the ASF," she said.
