The repatriation of the two Filipinos killed in a car accident in Singapore is now being processed by authorities, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.
In a statement, the DFA condoled with the families of the two Filipinos who died after a car crashed through a pavement railing at Lucky Plaza in Singapore on Sunday afternoon.
Aside from the two casualties, there were also four other Filipinos who were injured.
According to the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, two of them are currently in stable condition while the other two are still under intensive care.
“The DFA stands ready to provide all the assistance needed for the victims. The DFA, through the Embassy, is now in touch with authorities for the repatriation of the remains of the Filipino casualties,” the statement read.

The embassy in Singapore also said that the Filipino victims are being assisted by authorities.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) likewise assured to extend necessary help for the Filipino victims.
In a twitter post, OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac said that the administration will provide aid to the family of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died in the incident as well as the ones injured.
“We express our condolences to the family of our dear OFW who died in Singapore yesterday,” said Cacdac in his tweet in Filipino language.
“We will also be helping the families and injured OFW who are in the hospital today,” he added.
On Sunday night, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meñez confirmed reports that there were Filipinos involved in the road crash in Singapore.
He said that specific details have yet to be validated but the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs is already checking all information about the “tragic incident” with the embassy.
According to eyewitnesses’ statement in a report of the Strait Times, their fellow Filipino workers were having a picnic beside the railing where the crash happened.
The Lucky Plaza Mall is one of the most visited spots for foreign workers especially Filipino domestic workers, the Strait Times said in its report.
