Pontevedra, Capiz — More Malasakit Centers are expected to open in the first quarter of 2020 according to Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.
Go was here Saturday afternoon to visit and provide aid to victims of typhoon “Ursula.” Prior to his arrival, Go also visited similar typhoon victims in nearby Estancia, Iloilo.
The Malasakit Center is a “one stop shop” of different government agencies giving financial aid to patients in the accredited hospitals. It is targeting zero billing for indigent patients.
Among the government agencies involve are the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and the Office of the President.
“Legal documents are now being readied for the opening of Malasakit centers in Aklan and Capiz in the first quarter of 2020,” Go said.
