The Philippine National Police has announced the dismissal from service of 90 police officers for various criminal and administrative offenses.
PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa said Saturday the move was part of the punitive action under its internal cleansing program.
Gamboa signed the dismissal order on Friday against police colonels to show that even high-ranking officials can be punished.
“We have dismissed almost 90 policemen for the last two months, or an average two policemen every day,” said Gamboa.
Gamboa said it has always been a challenge for the PNP to regain the trust of the public. He vowed to get rid of more rogue policemen. (PNP)
