Quezon City personnel are on the alert with the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebration, in a report to Councilor Bobby Castelo, who is serving as acting mayor in the absence of Mayor Joy Belmonte who is on a holiday break.
Mike Marasigan, head of the local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), said his men are on 24/7 watch. Likewise, they were not allowed to take their leaves for the holiday in anticipation of any untoward incident.
Marasigan said they are readying for the conduct of traditional New Year countdown next week to ensure everything is in place.
Following his appointment as officer-in-charge, Castelo called the members of the DRRMO to discuss safety measures for the next few days.
