Woman jumps to death over spat

A 31- year old woman jumped to her death from the roof deck of a condominium following a spat with her live-in partner Friday night in Sampaloc, Manila.

Police Master Sergeant (PMSg) Barangay Allan Lingcong, of the Manila Police District-homicide section, identified the victim as Joanna Marie Valencia Y Sinay, a native of Guerrero Dingras, Ilocos Norte and resident of Unit A-42 A .Guevent Ville 2 at Domingo M. Guevarra St., Barangay Muway, Mandaluyong City.

Police investigation showed the incident occurred at the side of the Grand Residence 1 corner Espana Boulevard and G. Tolentino St. Barangay 469 Zone 46 Sampaloc.

It was learned that the suicide stemmed from an argument between the victim and his live-in partner Juwil Paredes for still unknown reason at 1 p.m.

In anger and desperation, the victim, according to police, went to the roof deck and jumped despite the pleading of her partner who called her on her mobile phone.

The pleading fell on deaf ear as the victim told him that she will kill herself.

A loud sound was soon heard heard as patrolling cop P/Lt. Col. Alex Daniel, Station Commander of Sampaloc Police Station 4, saw the body of the victim full of blood, The police immediately cordoned off the area.

Police are now investigating whether there was foul play involved in the woman’s death.
