Manila Police District chief PBrig. Gen Bernabe Balba claimed that the incidence of crime in the city has been recorded to be at its lowest.
The police chief attributed this to the effort being undertaken by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso since he assumed his post as mayor.
“This is because of the patient citywide efforts of Mayor Isko Moreno,” Balba said.
He said this was because of the different measures that the mayor implemented, including enhanced police visibility which had been a deterrent to the commitment of crimes and the strict implementation of curfew laws against minors, as well as his contribution to President Duterte’s war on illegal drugs.
Balba admitted there is no eminent threat to Manila, specially this coming Christmas season.

“With what Mayor Isko has been doing, working even at midnight as hands-on mayor, the police are now on alert in their areas as he comes unannounced, inspecting police stations, hospitals, parks and other city installations,” he explained.
