About 30,000 job vacancies in the medical sector are available in Germany at the moment until next year, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced on Thursday, saying that the country is in need of a massive number of nurses, hospital workers and medical workers wherein Filipinos were priorities.
“We are preferred. The Philippines ranks the number one preference,” said Bello.
Without specific slot limitations, Bello said Germany could hire “as many as they can” as long as the workers were qualified.
The Labor secretary also noted that aside from Germany, job opportunities in China, Canada and Russia can also be expected to be up next year, adding that he has already built up a communication with his counterpart in Yukon, Canada that are willing to discuss a bilateral agreement for possible job opportunities available for Filipino workers.
